Highlights
- ▶ The most remote Colorado state park on this list — NW Colorado is genuinely undervisited; Hahn's Peak volcanic landmark looms directly above the 8,100 ft reservoir
- ▶ Full marina, boat rentals, camp store, showers, and laundry — rare amenity level at altitude; 14 hookup sites remain open in winter
- ▶ Adjacent to Routt National Forest with access to the Zirkel Wilderness via trailheads within the park
Planning Notes
188 sites; 50-amp hookups in Wheeler Loop (sites 116–155); non-electric loops accommodate up to 35 ft. Dump station, paved entrance road. Plan for 2-night minimum given the 14.5 hr drive from Austin. Hahn's Peak Village (5 mi) has basic fuel; Steamboat Springs (26 mi) is full-service. Mid-week reservations easier than weekends in July–August.
