Highlights

  • Free BLM dispersed camping on Colorado River backwater flats accessible to trailers — Windsor Beach and Site Six areas have the flattest trailer-ready ground
  • Boat, kayak, and paddleboard rentals from Lake Havasu City marina; London Bridge (1971 transplant from England) is 10 minutes from camp by car
  • Cattail Cove State Park (AZ State Parks, $20/nt) is the developed backup with showers, flush toilets, and water on-site 15 miles south

Planning Notes

BLM dispersed sites are scattered along the river south of Lake Havasu City on AZ-95. Windsor Beach BLM is the closest free site with trailer-accessible flat ground (north of the city off AZ-95). 14-day limit on all BLM areas. Bring own water for BLM stays — Lake Havasu City has full services. Summers routinely exceed 115°F; October through April is the only comfortable window. From Austin: ~14.5 hrs via I-10 W through Phoenix then I-10 to Blythe CA then AZ-95 S, or US-60 W through Wickenburg to AZ-95 N.
