Highlights

  • 67 free-standing stone pillars (sand pipes) found nowhere else on Earth — unique geologic formations you can walk among from camp
  • Quiet alternative to crowded Bryce Canyon 22 miles north; same red-rock canyon color, a fraction of the visitors, and $15/nt cheaper
  • Paved road all the way from UT-12 — one of the most trailer-friendly access roads to any Utah canyon park

Planning Notes

Full-facility SP: vault toilets, water at faucets, no hookups. 24 sites in two loops; reservable. 7 miles south of Cannonville via paved road off UT-12. Combine with Grand Staircase-Escalante NM and Bryce Canyon in a 3-stop Escalante corridor trip. From Austin: ~15.3 hrs.
