Planning Notes

⚠️ Island Lake CG (main developed campground) is CLOSED through all of 2026 for construction — FS 105 dispersed is the current option. Lands End Road (FS 100) and FS 105 are 2WD-accessible in dry conditions. Road closes with snow November–May. Treat lake water before use. From Austin: ~13 hrs via I-40 W → Grand Junction → CO-65 S.
