Highlights

  • Coyote Creek streamside forest (spruce, pine, aspen) with fly fishing for Rio Grande cutthroat; 35 sites at 7,700 ft
  • 5 additional W/E RV sites with modern hookups and shelters added March 2026; actively improving park
  • Viable alternative to Cimarron Canyon SP (which is closed Mar 1–Oct 31, 2026 for renovation)

Planning Notes

New 2026 hookup sites accommodate trailers up to 35 ft; older primitive sites are 18 ft max. NM 434 paved to park entrance. Mora (17 mi S via NM 434/NM 518) for supplies. From Austin: ~8.5 hrs via I-35 N → I-25 N → Wagon Mound → Mora.
